Photos of Soderhamn, Sweden taken in 1918 - 1922 by Gustav Sahlin... A few color pictures are mixed in with his photos that were taken by me in 2002, when Martha & I visited Soderhamn. My great-grandfather, Jacob Jakobsson, was a stone mason who worked on building the “Oscarsborg Tower” in 1893-94, which is the most prominent landmark in town. Gustav Sahlin was my mother’s uncle. My grandfather (Alfred Jacobson’s) sister married Gustav Sahlin who died in 1957. Many thanks to my brother-in-law, Ken Anderson, who provided the Swedish-to-English translations for the photo captions.
